In 1984 Mr. David Brust, AIA, was recruited to organize architectural, planning and real estate development activities for S-B-F, a real estate syndication and property management group affiliated with St. Francis Savings and Loan Association. As Executive Vice President, Mr. Brust also reorganized property management operations; identified repair, renovation and special management needs of all properties; provided planning, budgeting, architectural, graphic design and construction management services; and expedited all construction maintenance and repair work. S-B-F properties include nursing homes, shopping centers, office buildings and residential facilities with a total value exceeding $50 million. Construction and renovation work designed and completed totaled over $1.5 million.

In 1977, Mr. Brust, AIA, co-founded the architectural planning and interior design firm of Brust-Heike/Design Associates. As Senior Partner, Mr. Brust managed all aspects of architectural and business development from initial contact through post-construction project evaluation. Mr. Brust was active in all phases of project development from programming, planning, design, budgeting and construction document preparation through construction administration. As principal architect of facilities exceeding 2,000,000 gross square feet and $450 million value, Mr. Brust was responsible for the design and implementation of project delivery systems responsive to scheduling, budgeting, design control and personnel assignment; monitoring of project development; and final review of project services.
Mr. Brust's specialized experience included the preparation of financial feasibility studies, demographic analysis, State Historical Society submissions, concept and budget reports, surveys and investigations of existing facilities, space planning and interior design. Mr. Brust has been a frequent consultant for the City of Milwaukee Housing Authority in its rehabilitation of facilities with various mechanical, structural, and water and air filtration problems.

As project architect and business manager of this 50 person Architectural-Engineering-Planning firm, Mr. Brust's responsibilities included project development and contract services management. In this capacity he set all contract compensation and shared in all decisions affecting legal and financial considerations, professional policies, profitability and quality standards. In addition, Mr. Brust developed and implemented new financial management systems, project cost control systems, and a full accrual project cost accounting system based on his MBA background.
